The summer term is well underway and here in the Education corner at Make Your Mark HQ we are very excited about all the great things we have on offer for our Make Your Mark clubs this term.

Firstly, we are holding our annual meet ups which are a great day out for our clubs, they are a chance to network with other enterprising clubs, meet our Ambassadors, take part in fun enterprise challenges and generally enjoy being around other creative and entrepreneurial students.

The details are

Friday 10th July – The Studio, Birmingham 11.00-3.00pm (tbc)

Wednesday 15th July – National Railway Museum, York 11.00-3.00pm (tbc)

The places at these events are available on a first come, first serve basis and priority will go to existing Make Your Mark clubs. If you are interested in finding out more details or coming along then email club@makeyourmark.org.uk

Our other exciting opportunity of the term is Make Your Mark have teamed up with Achievers International to offer schools in the UK an opportunity to expand their enterprise activities abroad.

Achievers International is an online enterprise project which encourages students to understand international trading. A group of students and their teacher form a company, and import and export goods with a partner school overseas.

Students gain an insight into how businesses are formed and managed, and increase their awareness and understanding of other cultures and citizenship.  It provides a practical learning context for teaching business studies and modern languages, and promotes the development of ICT skills.

The programme normally costs schools £100 per year, but Achievers have offered Make Your Mark Club schools the next programme year for free! (Sept 2009-June 2010) There are a limited number of places which will be allocated on a first come first served basis to schools signing up via the website before the end of June. All you need to do to take part is go to www.achieversinternational.org fill in the application form and enter the promotional code ‘Make Your Mark’ in the additional information box.
