Social Enterprise challenge drives North Warwickshire students on to entrepeneurial success
November 21st, 2008 by caroline
The car was at the school as part of a launch by Jaguar, along with the North Warwickshire Education Business Partnership and representatives from eight schools.
All of the schools are are taking part in the Jaguar Social Enterprise Challenge to raise money for local Nuneaton hospice - Mary Ann Evans Hospice (Mary Ann Evans was author George Eliot’s real name, she was born in Nuneaton so a lot of the school names, road names, pubs etc have a bit of a theme).
Each school has been given £50 and the challenge to make as much money as possible. Two winners will be chosen firstly the school that has raised the most money and secondly the one judged to have been the most enterprising - that school will win the coveted Jaguar Leaper Trophy (last year won by George Eliot School).
Last year only 3 schools took part and raised £3000 - this year the sky really is the limit. So good luck to George Eliot Community School & Business & Enterprise College, Higham Lane School & Business & Enterprise College, St Thomas More Catholic School & Technology College, Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College,
Manor Park Community School & Specialist Arts College, Alderman Smith School & Sports College and Queen Elizabeth School & Sports College.
The Jaguar Social Challenge results will be revealed in March next year.
