Coventry’s BME youngsters get a boost from Entepreneurs

Laura and I were invited along to attend the Young People’s Centre in Hillfields Coventry for a special evening celebrating the Young Entrepreneur. With a theme of “Inspiring young people to change their World” it certainly gave us plenty of food for thought. programme of speakers from all industries, music, fashion – our own ambassador Mr Lee Blake of 59fifty clothing - science, new media and hairdressing, the main message shone through young people can achieve anything no matter their background.

Many of the speakers had challenging backgrounds – whether they’d not acheived at school, or been involved in criminal activity and received a criminal record.
As older attendees who worked with the kids in the area told us that their area was known as being a deprived area where criminal activity does take place and its all too easy for young people to fall in with a bad crowd. To have positive stories for the young people of the area to listen to – can and certainly will make a difference.
Here’s hoping for more Hillfields youngsters Making their Mark in a positive way a few years from now.
