a bit of the latin spirit

More Global Entrepreneurship Week inspriation, this time from South America. Yesterday in Buenos Aires I met with GEW hosts from Paraguay, Bolivia, Argentina and Gaby from Peru even took a couple of hours out of her holiday to meet with me - now that’s dedication.

We were joined by a whole group of partner organisations in Argentina who will be working with the lead hosts, Endeavor, to make a real splash in November including; Junior Achievement (the equivalent of Young Enterprise in the UK), an organisation that gives out microfinance, a University, one of their students who had recently taken part in an enterprise competition and an organisation set up by a local entrepreneur who has committed to speaking at events during the week to share his inspiring story.

The workshop was the first time everyone had got together and the energy and enthusiasm was infectious. Ideas for activities and collaborations were flying around the room. There’s a real passion for social enterprise and encouraging more women entrepreneurs, and there are plans afoot for a cross latin american speednetwork during the week (those whistles do travel…)
