SHED’S BLOG 2 - “This Time It’s Personal”

May 19th, 2008 by shed

Hi, Shed here… Hello, I'm Shed SimoveGreat to be with you.

This month, I’ve got two new ideas for you…

1) THE p-Pod - the next big thing in MP3 players?

Forget apple! The next big thing is PEAS. I am very proud to show you my latest idea for a new mp3 player - ‘The p-Pod’:

The magnificent p-Pod - Apple are quaking in their boots...

If you’re a model-maker, graphic designer or manufacturer and you’d like to help me get this idea off the ground and into the shops, please get in touch through my personal site.

2) THE AMAZING ‘DRY CLEANING’ ADVENTURE (never thought I’d write that sentence)

Life is very exciting…because you never know when an idea might hit you. I was in a Dry Cleaner’s shop and became intrigued by the plastic covers used to protect people’s clothes. I noticed that they were printed with the name of the Dry Cleaning shop - and also that there was a space of white in between the reoccurring information.

So I asked myself the question: “Why can’t I use that space….perhaps to promote my new book?…”. I spoke with the Dry Cleaning bosses - a pair of lovely guys named Masood and Ali - and after we came to a deal, we printed a new batch of covers, complete with an advert showcasing - IDEAS MAN…

It's a new type of advertising - COVERTISING

So, this adventure neatly proves that…

***OPPORTUNITIES ARE EVERYWHERE***

..and so, this means that you can take your amazing brain and just look around, whilst all the time thinking: “What could be done better?” or “What could I do slightly differently?” and you’ll be coming up with great ideas and having superb adventures in no time…

All the best,

Yours,

Shed

I love the P-Pod!!! Anything which uses the garden as inspiration is good in my books…

Every Enterprise Week we look at getting the message out in different ways. To date we’ve had free branding on the side of buses, on top of pizza boxes and inside hire cars. Every year we are keen to be on coffee cup holders. If anyone would like to donate space to us this Enterprise Week email hannah@makeyourmark.org.uk

i spotted advertising on a taxi cab receipt last night - it’s true, opportunities are everywhere…

(also very excited about legumes - my broad beans have just started showing their faces in my garden!)

    Hi Shed

Love the blog! Re good opportunities for advertising. While going bald might be a tad traumatic it could have its advantages. Rent out the back of your head as ad space! Great for bored people sitting on a bus / waiting for the curtain to rise in the theatre - something to read etc!

    Great idea Rachel!

That’s really “How To Get A Head In Advertising”!…

Maybe we could use someone’s bald head to advertise a new brand of cereal called ‘Scalpen’?
