Could you use a Women’s Enterprise ambassador?
November 27th, 2007 by flissHere at MYM we are lucky enough to have a massive database of Women’s Enterprise Ambassadors (young women who have successfully set up their own businesses) from all over the country who are ready and willing to volunteer to come along to your school/youth club/event and help inspire young women into becoming more enterprising. They do this through running assemblies, talking to 6th form classes, speaking about their business experiences and lots more…
It’s all great! There’s just one hitch - they are all really keen to get involved and we don’t have enough opportunities to offer them at the moment - especially in the North… just today I received an email from one of our fantastic Northen ambassadors feeling very sad because we didn’t have anything for her to get involved in! The ambassadors are amazing and busy people but they want to do more!
So, if you know of a group of young people (and especially if they are a group of young women) who could benefit from a talk or from networking and interaction with one of our ambassadors, let me know! It’s a free service, all you need to do is email me at girlsmakeyourmark@makeyourmark.org.uk and let me know what you’re looking for!

We are very interested in getting some volunteers to assist us in launching our International Wellness Network. A more detail profile of our organization is at http:lifecoaching.meet-up.com/lll/ (use Search engine for “The Hagarproject Lifestyle Coaching). Our primary mission through our global missions ministry is to work as co-creators in creating a “POVERTY FREE WORLD:WHERE ALL CHILDREN CAN THRIVE”. One of our most important projects we are working on launching is our Hagar University and Womanomics International. The Hagar U is committed to developing young entertainers and entrepreneurs from the ages of 13-21 years old. Our target population is the youth/young adults in the Urban Centers of America. Our goal is to work with creating opportunities for the youth to establish online businesses successfully, as well as community small businesses within their communities, giving them the opportunity to become Community Transformers in creating a “wealth-consciousness” within the community to help is begin to thrive. Channeling more of their dollars back into their community. Through the Womanomics International, this project is focused on low-to-moderate income women in the Urban Centers, where most are single-female headed households. Our mission is to mentor these women into successful small businesses, within their communities, or home based businesses, giving them the opportunity to be home, and making a good living and able to parent their children more successfully. We have developed a 7 Principles to Optimal Wellness Program for our mission which takes a holistic approach to wellness.
One of our projects that is really a great need within the community, is Health and Wellness Centers. The latest research by John Hopkins, and other research centers, 80% of black women in these urban centers, will be overweight, and 41% will be obese. Also, black children before they reach school age, are presently overweight, and many are considered obese. I myself am a Black woman, and I realize that losing weight is more than just changing a diet, it takes a holistic approach to being able to change the consciousness of individuals, and all aspects of the individual needs to be considered. Our Health and Wellness Centers, is culturally specific, we through much of my training and others part of our group is very inclusive, looking at each person we work with as an individual, and working with them to get to the root of their issues in turning their lives around. These centers we plan to train women and youth (those 18 and over), to be wellness coaches, trainers, fitness instructors, massages therapists, etc.
Another project is to establish small Whole Food Stores within these communities, at an affordable cost where individuals within these communiies can afford them. There are other projects we have on the table but the most critical one is the Health and Wellness Centers. We need all of the volunteer help we can get. I sure hope that we may be able to here from you soon. We are also in need of individuals that are computer savvy. We have right now a MacIntosh computer. We would like to get more knowledgeable on it, being able to produce videos, films, etc. We want to by the end of the year 2008 have our young adults creating their own production and entertainment company, that is producing positive material to be distributed. Anyway, we do look forward to your response. Thank you so very much for considering us.
