Idea Volcano
June 19th, 2007 by Jo HillYoung entrepreneurs, Oli Barrett and James Murray Wells, are about to launch Ideavolcano.com to house spare business ideas that can be developed by anyone that finds them interesting. They say that entrepreneurs have lots of ideas but not enough time to work them up. And there are also lots of people out there looking for good ideas. So this ‘ideas blog’ is a way to match them up. Entrepreneurs will post their ideas on the blog and other people around the world can develop them. Ownership of the idea is up to those involved.
I think this is a really interesting concept because it demystifies the fear that if you tell someone your idea it will get stolen. The reality is that no-one can get an idea off the ground without a) telling other people and b) finding other people to help them. The Ideavolcano will be based on trust, networking and collaboration - all key to making an idea happen. More about this in the Telegraph

I agree this sounds really interesting - look forward to seeing it once it’s launched. It’ll be a good addition to the ‘Your big idea’ page in the Next steps section of the Make Your Mark website too.

It’s a great idea (I would say though that as my blog is very similar).
Far too few people realise that ideas are just the start, it’s the hard work and determination to make them happen that will determine success or failure.
